Lithothamnium, Lithothamnium calcareum, is a red algae of the Corallinaceae family. Like coral, its thallus forms arbuscules several centimeters long, as well as branches of a few millimeters. It grows on the sandy bottoms of certain bays at a depth of around thirty meters. Its very slow growth allows it to filter and absorb all the nutrients from the sea, in particular calcium and magnesium, which it manages to retain thanks to its remarkable porosity. Lithothamnium thus contains 25 to 34% of calcium and 1.7 to 3.3% of magnesium.
Calcium and magnesium contribute to the maintenance of normal bones. Lithothamnium is therefore particularly recommended for postmenopausal women, seniors, and growing adolescents.
On the other hand, calcium also contributes to the normal functioning of digestive enzymes.

Lithothamnium powder (Lithothamnium calcareum) algae titrated to 32% of calcium and 2% of magnesium, tunic: pullulan gelling agent.
