Description
Mgd Nopal 200 capsules
The nopal, Opuntia ficus indica, more commonly known as the "prickly pear," is a cactus of the Cactaceae family native to Mexico. After being discovered in the 16th century by Spanish conquistadors, the nopal was introduced to Europe, around the Mediterranean. It is also found in South Africa, on the island of Réunion, as well as in India and Australia.
Grown primarily for its fruit, nopal is naturally rich in vitamin C. It also serves as a natural colorant. In addition, in Mexico, it is widely used in traditional practice where the leaf, reduced to powder, is used to limit the absorption of fats.
Nopal is rich in fibers that have the ability to bind to some of the dietary fats ingested during meals in the stomach, thus capturing them. The whole is then eliminated through natural pathways. Due to this lipophilic property, it promotes weight loss.
