Collagen, a glycoprotein in nature, is a fibrous macromolecule that is widespread in the animal kingdom and, in humans, represents approximately one-third of the body's proteins. It forms the majority of the protein constituents of skin, tendons, cartilage, bones, and more generally connective tissue (80% of the weight of connective tissue is made up of collagen).
From the Greek kolla and genmen, collagen means "which produces glue, gelatin." Organized as a network of fibers, collagen can be compared to a framework that ensures cell cohesion, holding and forming all the connective tissues of the body.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones and cartilage. Manganese is a trace mineral that contributes to normal connective tissue formation and the maintenance of normal bones.
Ingredients:
Marine Collagen * (fish) hydrolyzed, tunic: pullulan gelling agent, acerola fruit extract (Malpighia punicifolia) titrated to 25% vitamin C, anti-caking agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids, manganese gluconate.
