The fumitory, Fumaria officinalis, is an annual climbing plant native to Europe and North Africa of the Papaveraceae family.
Its name has given rise to various explanations: it comes from the gastric juice of the plant which makes tears flow like smoke, or from the gray leaves which evoke smoke coming out of the earth.
A plant known for its bitter taste, the flowering aerial parts, a source of alkaloids and flavonoids, are used for their active properties.
Ingredients:
Fumitory* (Fumaria officinalis) aerial part, tunic: pullulan gelling agent.
