Vegetable charcoal comes from the woody parts of certain trees (wood, bark, shells) calcined at high temperatures.

It is said to be active or activated when it undergoes a second thermal shock in the presence of air and water vapor injected under pressure. This has the effect of increasing the adsorption power of the carbon. Composed of almost pure carbon, vegetable carbon does not owe its properties to its composition of active ingredients but to its own structure similar to a labyrinth made of numerous cavities.

Activated charcoal is an effective natural aid for intestinal well-being. It is indicated to help reduce excess flatulence after meals.
