Why would I need a bottle brush?
If you express breast milk and feed it to your baby, it is essential to wash breastfeeding accessories, such as breast milk collection bottles, after use (and disinfect them daily) to ensure they are clean and comply with hygiene guidelines. Designed specifically for bottles, teats and breast pump parts, the Quick Clean™ bottle brush Medela makes cleaning easier. The bottle brush's flexible head features a 180° angled brush that removes milk residue from every nook and cranny. Plus, its handy nipple brush features a clever groove that removes all residue from hard-to-reach corners of your baby's nipples.
How do you keep your baby's bottles clean?
Breast milk bottles should be disassembled and washed immediately in warm, soapy water after each use. Cleaning removes any traces of milk that could dry and become a breeding ground for bacteria. Using your Quick Clean™ bottle brush allows you to reach difficult-to-reach corners. When you're finished, rinse the bottle parts thoroughly with clean water and let them dry on a clean cloth. Replace your clean brush brush on its base between uses; in the upright position, it dries hygienically. Remember to disinfect breast milk bottles before first use and then daily; read our article Clean your breast pump to learn more.
Maintaining your bottle brush
Before using your for the first time Quick Clean™ bottle brush Medela, wash it in warm, soapy water. You can also clean it in the top rack of your dishwasher. There's no need to disinfect your bottle brush between uses by boiling it or placing it in a sterilizer. You should not microwave or steam sterilize it. We recommend replacing your bottle brush every 30 to 45 days or whenever it shows signs of wear.
