Calma is an innovative feeding solution designed for breastfed babies. Medela has designed this solution to be compatible with your breastfeeding plan and to ensure your baby continues to feed as they learned at the breast.
Medela's Calma system was designed as an alternative to breastfeeding for mothers who want to give their breast milk to their baby. It was developed in collaboration with breastfeeding experts from the Human Lactation Research Group led by Professor Hartmann at the University of Western Australia. Calma allows your baby to suck, swallow, and breathe in their natural rhythm:
- he can drink, take a break and breathe according to his natural rhythm while remaining relaxed and serene;
- your baby must suck for the milk to start flowing;
- your baby maintains his natural sucking behavior.
