5% POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION FOR LOCAL CUTANEOUS APPLICATION
Treatment of Molluscum contagiosum (1) (2)
Molluscum Contagiosum is a benign, highly contagious viral skin condition that usually affects the skin and sometimes the mucous membranes and has been steadily increasing over the past 10 years, particularly in children with atopic skin (3).
Molutrex is very easy to use: 1 to 2 applications per day until redness appears (usually 2 to 10 days). It does not require rinsing. It can be used on face and body (excluding the eye area and mucous membranes) in adults and children from 2 years old.

This medical device is a regulated health product which, under this regulation, bears the “CE” marking.
Use
1/ To do before first use
Replace the bottle cap with the child-resistant cap and brush provided. The case also contains a fine applicator recommended for more precise application on very small Molluscum contagiosum.
2/ Application of Molutrex
Open the bottle, place it on a flat surface to avoid spilling, and then dip the brush or fine applicator into the solution. Wipe the brush or fine applicator on the rim of the bottle to prevent a drop from forming.
Using the brush or fine applicator, apply the solution without excess on Mollucum contagium, without spilling onto healthy skin.
Refill the brush or fine applicator with product every 2 or 3 applications. Close the child-resistant cap tightly after each use.
3/ Drying
Allow to dry. In the case of a child, make sure that they do not touch the treated parts during the drying time.
4/ Repeat the application 1 or 2 times a day
Repeat applications on the same Molluscum contagiosum for several days until inflammation (redness) appears, usually between 2 and 10 days.
5/ Stopping the application
As soon as inflammation of a Molluscum appears, stop applying Molutrex to this Molluscum
Inflammation is a sign that Molluscum contagiosum will soon disappear within 2 to 6 weeks.
CAUTION: Do not apply the solution to the same Molluscum contagiosum for more than 14 days. If you do not get any results, inform your doctor.
Precautions for use and special precautions for use
This product should not be used:
– on the mucous membranes and around the eyes.
– on children under 2 years old.
– in case of allergy to one of the components.
– on infected or already inflamed Molluscum contagiosum.
– on classic warts and any other keratinization of the skin.
SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
CAUTION! This product may be corrosive if used improperly. Do not leave
the liquid comes into contact with healthy skin. Wash your hands after each use.
– do not use on the eye area, mucous membranes, open wounds or skin
injured by scratching.
– if breastfeeding, do not use this solution on parts of the body that may come into contact with the infant.
– do not use in patients with acute atopic eczema.
– do not use in people with a weakened immune system.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES:
– in case of contact with the skin around the Molluscum contagiosum, rinse with water.
– in case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water for 15 minutes and consult
a doctor.
– do not rub your eyes or mucous membranes if the product has accidentally dripped onto your fingers.
Wash your hands quickly.
