Breast milk leaks and starting breastfeeding
When your milk comes in, about two to four days after your baby is born baby,1 It's normal to have significant milk leakage, both day and night. Your breasts are adjusting to the amount of milk your baby needs and the amount they produce. During this adjustment period, your breasts will feel full; you may experience some leakage or even continuous milk flow! Breastfeeding or expressing your milk frequently will help, but there will be exceptions. This is where Medela SUPER nursing pads come in.
Ideal for heavy breast milk leaks
If your breast milk leaks heavily, it can soak through your clothes and/or bed during the night. Waking up with stained and damp clothes isn't exactly pleasant or comfortable. Nursing pads (or bra pads) are therefore essential for ensuring peaceful nights (and days). Medela SUPER nursing pads have a soft lining that instantly seals off moisture from your skin and traps it in its ultra-absorbent polymer texture, which, in turn, transforms the liquid into gel. In addition, its waterproof outer coating protects your clothes.
Comfortable, wraparound nursing pads
Our SUPER nursing pads are specially designed to fit perfectly in your bra without showing through your clothes. Only you know they're there. Plus, they're equipped with adhesive strips for a secure fit. So there's no need to worry. They won't move when you're busy caring for your baby or getting up and going back to bed for nighttime feedings.
Practical and hygienic individual packaging
Breastfeeding hygiene is paramount. That's why Medela individually wraps its SUPER nursing pads so you can slip them into your bag, ready to use. And if you're wondering how often to change your nursing pads, the answer is: "As often as your comfort requires!" Simply remove them, discard them, and insert new ones.
