Wheat germ oil is a source of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids.
Omega-3s are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) whose precursor is alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). This is an essential fatty acid because it cannot be synthesized by the body and physiological needs must therefore be covered by diet. ALA, present in certain vegetable fats (wheat germ, rapeseed, walnut, flax, etc.) is the source of many long-chain PUFAs in the omega-3 family, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).

Omega-6s are also PUFAs essential for the proper functioning of the body. Among them is linoleic acid (LA), which our bodies cannot synthesize. It is found in wheat germ oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, grape seed oil, etc. From LA, the body can produce other fatty acids in the omega-6 family, including gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
Linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels*.

Ingredients:

Wheat germ oil* (gluten) titrated to 52% linoleic acid and 3% alpha-linolenic acid: 500 mg, gelatin, humectant: glycerin, vitamin E.
