Passionflower is a perennial plant whose trailing stems can reach 9 meters, climbing thanks to its tendrils. The magnificent flowers of the passionflower, visible in May-June, are large, solitary, regular, white, adorned inside with a crown of red filaments. The fruit, orange-red, is ovoid, as big as an apple, it contains a yellow pulp and black seeds. Native to America, the passionflower has acclimatized in Europe, especially in the Mediterranean regions.
