Description
Jarrow Formulas® Resveratrol contains 100 mg of resveratrol (3, 4′, 5-trihydroxystilbene) and resveratrol glucosides (piceids) extracted from the root of Hu zhang (“tiger cane”), more commonly known as Japanese knotweed. Knotweed extracts have long been used as cardiotonics in traditional Eastern medicine.
Jarrow Formulas® Resveratrol provides approximately 90 % of resveratrol in the trans configuration.
As an antioxidant, resveratrol supports cardiovascular function by inhibiting LDL oxidation, upregulating nitric oxide synthesis, and promoting capillary integrity.
Resveratrol has also been studied for its ability to activate Phase 2 detoxification enzymes to maintain healthy cell replication.
